Cold Winter Nights

November 28, 2009

It's late Saturday night, cold outside and the fireplace is glowing orange and feels good. The guys are deer hunting and I am trying to relax and get some things marked off my to do list.

Hope all had a great turkey-day, it was truly a blessing and I am thankful for all the good food, family, friends and kicking butt playing 42. I just love to play dominos, Jd finally got to play and well, he caught on pretty well. Dad was not too happy, Em and I beat him!!!!!!!  Go Girls!!!

Just a note to please be careful out there, shop with friends, park in well lit areas, always have your cell and keys ready and look in all directions. The robberies have been hitting all over town.

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

God Bless and take care.....till next time...the landfrieds

School---Football---Homework--and all else.....

September 17, 2009

Well the talk of all is   """FOOTBALL""""". JD's first year and he is pumped. Had his first scrimmage like game last week and he said it was great. Only thing I note is he has not gotten crushed yet. Hope he feels the same once that happens.

How bout them BOYS???? IF you live in Texas you must be a cowboys fan, unless you are like my dad---49er's all the way.

Well we got Abilene show off the list, did OK, could of been better. The heifers were full of energy with all the cool and wet weather, it rained for 3 days straight and then we went to a pig sale. JD got a pig for our county show in January, they are so cute and little right now. One is Zippy and the other Dimeback---LOL----Johnny named them, hope they grow well and JD walks them a lot.

Our donor Lady Cavalier has a heifer baby in the oven, we are so excited, not to mention the embryos in the oven also. Hope they are heifers too...

Till next time.....the landfrieds

Fairs, Rodeos, Cattle Shows and more

August 21, 2009

Well JD has his first heifer show under his belt for this season. The beefmaster symposium was awesome and informative. So much information to digest and a great beefmaster heifer show.....

Next is Abilene, then Tyler, Dallas, Waco and the list goes on till next spring. JD's little heifer got 8th out of 17, not too bad, but we hope she just gets better and better. She needs to hit a growing spell and fill out some. But she is barely 6 months, so growing will come. She did really well considering at home she was still pulling away from him, but in the show ring, she was well mannered.

We do love the fairs and rodeos, well and Jd loves the rides... But is does not leave much time ranching and at home chores...

Good luck to all in the ring and in life.

Till next time........the landfrieds

Family Reunions

July 24, 2009

I just love my family---

It is July 2009, and I just enjoyed my 29th or 30th "FOITEK FAMILY REUNION". My dad has 3 brothers and 4 sisters and he is pretty much in the middle when it comes to their ages. All of the siblings have spouses and kids and even grandkids and great grandkids, so when it comes to family reunions it takes a pretty big place to accomodate us. Usually we have about 85-100 kin folks. Of course we would not be here if it were not for """Grandpa and Grandma Foitek who started it all--we love and miss them so.

But anyway it is 3 days of hot summer fun, check out the pics in the website. I feel I am truly blessed, I do not know many families that do what we do and it is great and I pray it never ends. I am trying to instill it into my kids and grandkids that this is awesome and should never go away.

I truly grew up knowing my cousins that lived out of town, grew to know their spouses and children, and their children. However I do miss the good ole times when we...
